THINGS PEOPLE TEND TO MISS IN FANART
Haha I know I don't have a good ref sheet yet I'm sorry, it's a little low on my list of things to do.

her eyes are white with black crescent shaped pupils. However, they CAN be pure white with no pupil if you so wish. I've also had someone do grey eyes that looked AMAZING

on her golden horns there are THORNS. Those are not freaky tufts of fur, there are three thorns on each horn. And the horn twists!

On her golden heart that pertrudes from her chest there is the symbol for Shinjuu which is double-love suicide. I have a picture of it in my scraps folder I believe

On her heart box there is a mirror behind the golden rose design. And the chain isn't always out! It can coil back into the box if on the ground (or it can lay out, but don't feel the need to draw it if it screws up the layout of the picture)

The undermost layer of her tail is WHITE with a golden SHEEN. It's fine if you do it mainly gold, but please put some white in it as well!

There are THREE main layers to her tail. The undermost white and gold layer which is a horse tail, the red and black feathers, AND four layers of light grey-black feathers on top of each other! Many people forget this topmost layer. Not a big deal if you mess this up though

Erm... she's a girl. Make her feminine XD

People who have done me fanart already do NOT take any of this seriously! Your pictures are AMAZING!!! But just because you were able to pull off these small mistakes doesn't mean others can, so I want to alert people of these little details that are easy to miss

THINGS TO KNOW

For those who don't know Shinjuu means "double love suicide" and the most common explanation is that two lovers are not allowed to be together (commonly due to class differences) and since they aren't allowed to be together in life they commit suicide to be together in death.

The golden box is carried with her at ALL times and holds the heart of her lover At some times her lover's spirit can be seen floating around her

The thorns on her back grow out of the rose connected to her shoulder, but can be retained back into the flower when not needed. They are in their relaxed form now, but when there is danger the thorns grow closer together and create wings that can actively fly.

Yes, her chest is open and you can see her heart XD the symbol on her heart says Shinjuu

She is mainly a fennec fox/ silver fox mix. But she has slightly wolflike characteristics I admit

Her ears are actually supposed to be bigger and more fennec fox like with a lot of fluff in the middle. I realized after I finished the picture that I forgot to draw them that way XD Most likely I'll have her ears change size according to her mood or something

Her coat is red, or a very red maroon. Ignore the fact that in the ref she looks purple, that's simply because I fail at shading XD

The tail is made of feathers at the base (like a peacock) but has a horse tail underneath (which is white with gold shine)

She looks slightly different depending on her mood

scared: thorn wings grow very thickly and close together, this allows her to fly more easily if she feels threatened. Also, in battle she can manipulate the thorns to form a shield around her (kind of like Gaara uses sand in Naruto) or to engulf her enemy. The gold vine marking on her legs can sometimes glow if she is very threatened. She closes her box and holds it in her mouth using a chain (otherwise unseen) as protection. Perhaps bigger fennec fox like ears?

normal: wings are loosly grown, (not very many thorns) Heart box is open in front of her. Gold vine marking on legs is normal

very relaxed/happy:
Wings can either be loosly grown or not visible at all (the vines can go back into the golden rose if there is no threat of danger) Heart box is open and she may place her nuzzle on the edge of the box to peer inside. The gold vine marking on her legs can either be normal or shrink smaller (as opposed to going all the way up to her leg, only up to about her ankle)

By the way, before any n00bs say that this is offensive to suicidal people or something; I used to be suicidal and I don't flipping care if someone's fursona is depicted as cutting themselves or killing themselves or whatnot. It's just a character. Get over it.

She would probably wear gothic clothing, or something very dark and seductive (use your imagination!) If you have no imagination, I suggest going to the hottopic online website and searching around there for some references. A corset with ripped leather pants would be a safe (and much loved) way to go Her clothes would probably be a mixture of black and red with a gold accent (as are the colors of her pelt lol) I'd like for her to be carrying her heart box if possible, it should be about 8 inches long, 4 inches in width, and 4 inches in height (in proportion to the picture of course, just as long as it isn't miniscule I'm happy. Some people like detailed descriptions though XD)
As for personality, she's very detached from the world and suffers from depression and is suicidal. The pose I would most easily see her as would be leaning against a wall standing up kind of looking towards the sky, or sitting down on a bench/rock/thing looking at the box. But really, go WILD on the pose! Do whatever you think would look cool! I'm TOTALLY open to any kind of pose! She'd probably have long black hair (down to her butt) that is very straight to about her midback but then starts to get a little bit of a wave to the bottom. Please feel free to go wild on the hairstyle too. She actually changes her hair a LOT. SO ANYTHING GOES!!! (easy enough isn't it?) In real life I change my hair colors constantly, and would cut my hair all different styles every day if I could. So give her so neat hairstyles! The long jet black hair is a safe idea to fall back on though. She can have either white eyes with no pupils, or white eyes with crescent shaped pupils. Her skin would be very pale (almost albino, but without the pinkish tinge) And perhaps she could have a golden rose somewhere on her person? (tucked into her hair, in a pocket, etc. BE CREATIVE!) She should be around 5' 7" to 5' 9". Considering you can't really scale a drawing somewhere around there is fine XD She should be about 1-3 inches shorter than her lover though. She is VERY slender and curvy, pretty much a model's figure (haha, if only I was like my fursona in real life) I would like her eyes to be slightly Japanese style, and her nails should be long if you can
Seriously... I'd love anthro fanart of her. And you really can go wild!

REMINDER TO SELF FOR STORY:
Her lover was an angel, and angels are only tangible for one year once every 100,000 years. So instead of waiting in heaven for 100,000 years her lover ripped out his heart and put it in this box for her (thus allowing him to watch over her on earth in spirit form). So now she carries it around with her always. The butterfly is a Cheru which is the form her angel usually took (because her angel was a shapeshifter)
